I don't see the Phils trading Nola, I expect them to go into next year with a rotation of

1) Wheeler
2) Nola
3) Suarez
4) Free Agent or Trade
5) Falter

With Painter and/or Abel added by mid season

McGarry should be right there for the SP mix, too.

In fact, I could see McGarry starting the season in the rotation while the Phillies' slowfoot Abel & Painter's minor-league innings, with an eye toward them still having September availability

Maybe - though they may start him in the bullpen

Painter will probably be ranked in the top 20, if not the top 10.

Last time we had 2 highly regarded starter prospects was Gavin Floyd and that Cole whatshisname....

I think (could be wrong) that they were only looking at bullpen for McGarry as an emergency end of 2022 thing.
If he's viable as a SP, you can never have enough SP. Look at the Braves this year.

I recall reading about him a few months ago and got the sense that he may be cut out more for the bullpen

He could be a Ranger Suarez 2021 type in 2023

Stinks not being able to put Realmuto at DH.
I do understand not putting him at 1B in the rain

At least we still have Schwarber's clutch bat in the leadoff spot....

I simply don't understand how it's the year 2022 and GMs and managers still fail to understand the concept of on-base percentage
