I regret to inform the board that the Phillies Offseason Thread will be delayed once again.

That's what I was thinking yesterday, but I knew you'd send me laser eyes if I said it aloud.

Nola
Wheeler
Suarez
Thor
Nola
My brother texted me after Rhys's HR asking me if he would be the NLCS MVP. I almost burned a hole in my phone reading that text

Honestly, NLCS MVP should just be a five-way between Schwarber, Hoskins, Harper, Wheeler and Alvarado.

I'm mostly happy for the younger fans. This will cement their fandom. I feel like 2008 was the Mount Everest that will not be topped, and I'm happy with that.

We'll just have to make due with tears from the Mets and Braves fan. Remember they both got to 101 wins

I'm sad that Keith Hernandez still has nothing to watch on TV.

While I am passing around kudos, let me say that Thomson outmanaged the HELL out of Melvin in this series.

He was aggressive as hell. He recognized the big-game moments, regardless of inning, and went for it. No, not 100% of his moves worked. But at least he made moves. I feel like Melvin was extremely conservative, when the Padres arguably had more pitching depth than the paper-thin Phillies. Hader only faced 3 batters in 5 games.

The Padres coveted Josh Hader for years. In August, they finally landed him. Today, with their season on the line and Bryce Harper at the plate, they did not put him in the precise kind of spot they acquired him to own. Hader never took the mound. Brutal ending for San Diego.
