For all the heartache Robertson caused us in the ninth, he did strike out Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker, which is .... improbable and huge.

I'd like for you folks to know something.
For those of you with great anxiety and/or nervousness, you should know that I am completely calm. In fact, the level of calm I feel is equal to a feeling I had on a particular Sunday, in February, 2018.
I don't know why.
I don't know how.
Take solace in that knowledge.
I will say no more.

Saturday morning thoughts and stats:
1. Suarez definitely Zen at this point. I guess he needed that jittery start in Game 1 vs. the Braves to get it all out of his system.
2. Someone should put together an honorary Gold Glove for Suarez; he's seriously one of the best I've seen.
3. Phillies winning with bullpen, defense and two-out RISP hitter. It's like the past few years have been exorcised.
4. But here's the thing: They are also capable of winning games with ace performances and/or barrages of home runs. If they can win a couple games that way in this series, it's going to get very interesting.
5. Did y'all see the video where you can hear the umpire telling Diaz: "You fucking leaned right into it."
6. Teams are 5-220 (.022) all-time when trailing by 5+ runs in the World Series.
7. That Castellanos catch, and his repositioning beforehand, is the kind of thing that makes one believe in fate.
8. The Phillies are 76-48 since June 1
9. Thomson is an absolute revelation. I think this Bohm quote is indicative of the attitude Thomson has infused this team with: "“Should we go up to the clubhouse and just quit and start tomorrow’s game? Is that what we should do? Or should we just play?”
10. Savoring this, no matter how it ends.

It has taken exactly one game for the "WTF is Dusty doing" theme to arise once again.
I didn't want to point to his presence in the opposing dugout as an advantage for the Phillies, and he didn't lose last night's game.
But .... some long trends are hard to ignore.

The big complaint that I have seen online is his going to Garcia not StanekChristopher wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 3:58 pm It has taken exactly one game for the "WTF is Dusty doing" theme to arise once again.

Garcia is a good pitcher - can't always judge a manager by the result
Bottom line is just like game 2 of the 2011 NLDS, can't blame the manager when your ace pitcher can't hold a big lead
