The Good Phight:

[It seems as the Phillies are en route to signing/ have signed Jesus Starlyn Caba, a 17 year-old SS from the Dominican Republic. Listed at 5’10”, 160 LBS, a left-handed hitter. Fangraphs called Caba “an electric infield athlete with plus-plus footwork.”]

Really? This would be a nice turn of events. The Phillies need some international quick risers in the system.

Tying off some news from earlier: Former top prospect Francisco Morales somewhat surprisingly cleared waivers. So he's still with the Phillies, off the 40-man, and pitching at Lehigh Valley this year.

Phillies top 10 prospects according to Baseball America

1. Andrew Painter RHP
2. Mick Abel RHP
3. Griff McGarry RHP
4. Justin Crawford OF
5. Johan Rojas OF
6. Hao Yu Lee 2B/SS
7. Erik Miller LHP
8. Gabriel Rincones OF
9. Simon Muzziotti OF
10. Ethan Wilson OF

Only 2 of them make the Top 100

Andrew Painter #5 overall
Mick Abel #40 overall

(McGarry would presumably be around 101 to 115, if the list were extended)

The buzz on Lee coming into last year after playing only 9 games was very loud. His 2022 season was one of the best by a teenager in full season ball. He is pretty clearly the Phillies best hitting prospect, and unlike most of their hitters he just hits.

Rob Thomson was voted the second-most handsome manager in baseball.

He told his wife, "You know how lucky you are…I’m the second most handsome guy in baseball”

He said she responded, "So everyone else must have been tied for first.”

On a segment on WIP, Dave Dombrowski said that Bryce Harper’s rehab has gone well so far. Said he should start swinging a bat around the end of March. Also said he should be back in the lineup right around the All Star Game (which fits with original timeline the Phillies gave)
