Stil think you need that one vet off the bench around. The "Rick Mahorn" guy. Hard to say a guy who can show this team how to win cause look what they accomplished last year.

Evan Longoria, or Nelson Cruz. Yeah, there's not much left in them but you don't need much from them. Neither of them wil make or break you. If they are bad, you can cut them in July.

I think they might give the kid Baker in AA a shot for a spot in the pen. Had a breakout year last year. Control was a little better and sitting high 90's and touching 100.

I can't see much of a market developing for him. Not even the Orioles/Pirates seem to be dumpster-diving for him at this point.

If he'd take $6M, I'd bring him back and go 6-man rotation to start the season (also provides injury insurance). ... Then move Thor to the bullpen in the second half, when Painter/McGarry could be ready to also bolster the staff.

You know I want a spot for Painter, willing to take a look at McGarry, just to get a feel for his readiness. Love the energy of kids. We saw that effect in 2022. We need those stories for 2023. Wish Morey/Rivers understood that.

Trea Turner will wear #7. Not sure where he'll hit, yet. Schwarber called him this morning to ask. Funny, I guess $300m gives you your choice if you want it but he seemed reluctant to do any dick swinging about it. Said he felt comfortable at 1, 2 or 3 and that they'd likely figure it out in ST.
