1. Assume this plan also includes an All-Star shortstop

2. Have to respectfully disagree. Spending dollars on the bullpen rarely works out, especially for us. With the workload we put on Nola/Wheeler last year and with our October aspirations, I think we need a solid addition to the starting rotation. Obviously, Gibson mostly sucked, but those Gibson/Eflin/Thor starts & innings need to be replaced (a combined 50 starts from those three). If it take $70M to bring in Taillon or Walker, I think that's what they need to do. Go with lottery tickets on the bullpen, not Matt Moore/Chase Anderson for the rotation

Kyle Gibson goes to the Orioles on a one-year contract

Chris -I disrespectfully disagree ;).

Besides, don't you have a Kyle Gibson appreciation thread to start?

Hope the Mets don't end up replacing DeGrom with Verlander & Taillon. That would, pending our moves, have us looking at third place again.

Let’s go Dumbo!..Get Rodon or Taillon!

Rodon wants a minimum of 6/180, and I wouldn't do that with his history.

Taillon at 5/80 is an overpay but the only thing that will land him at this point, and it solidifies the middle of the rotation for an extended period during which the Nola & Wheeler contracts are expiring.

Earlier is better at this point than the waiting game.
Sign Taillon
Wrap up Turner before Judge leaves NYY and the Yankees get bright ideas about spending elsewhere

Watch out for Cohen getting in on the Turner sweepstakes, especially if Nimmo leaves…Turner can play 3rd or CF
Cohen is not averse to going over the CohenTax.
Get the Turner deal done soonest!

Clearly Middleton & Dombrowksi heard the urgency that Bigs and I were conveying about getting Turner done before things had a chance to go sideways
