Let be honest. Let's be real.

The coordinators were significantly out coached in the 2nd half.

Call it like it was.

I really didn't see 3 RBs with 45yds, total.

I seriously thought they'd run for 150, WITHOUT Hurts' yards.

How bad a failure was this on Gannon and Steichen? There have only been two SBs where a team lost a 10pt+ lead and lost, the other was NE vs ATL.

History making ineptitude.

Teams in the SB with a 10pt halftime lead were 26-1. The last DC to have that happen to them was fired.

Why can't we have nice things?

Seriously.

Sorry Chris -I am not in complete agreement with you

Aaron Rodgers got to one 1 SB (2010) and won - none since
Marino of course also just got to one
You need to take advantage when you are there.

You had a season where all of your starters played in the SB. A schedule that was easy and 1st seed gave you 2 (ultimately) easy games at home. Plus a QB on a rookie contract. They will not have a team as close to as good as this one going forward

I was in the minority who wanted to play the Bengals. I never thought that the Eagles had a good chance to win this game. Once the Chiefs took the opening 2nd half drive and scored so easily, I knew that it was over. Mahomes/KC will win plenty more SBs and he will ultimately pass Brady as the best QB of all time.

I really go back to 76 following sports closely

Record in the finals since then

Sixers 1-4
Eagles 1-3
Phillies 2-4
Flyers 0-6

4-17 in the finals. It is just depressing that even when we are fortunate to get that far, our success rate is abysmal

I go back to '70 and I was lucky enough to be able to include the Flyers' 2 SCs, so mine is:

Sixers 1-4
Eagles 1-3
Phillies 2-4
Flyers 2-8

But that 4-17 since is what I was referencing. Just doesn't seem like a fair share of wins.

and of those 4 wins:

-- 1980 Phillies: Were dead in the water on Labor Day, so they can hardly be called an all-time great team
-- 2018 Eagles: Won with their backup quarterback
-- 2008 Phillies: Incredible team, but also had to rally in September, like the 1980 team
-- 1984 Sixers: Absolute juggernaut; the most dominant team of the post 1976 era, by a longshot

Man we can sit and talk about history forever. Should start a whole new thread about the good teams.

I digress. This was a game that should have been won.
