Garrett Stubbs removed from Team Israel roster in WBC due to knee soreness. Extent unclear.

Phillies are also down their No. 2 and No. 3 catchers. Garrett Stubbs was scheduled to get an MRI today on his sore right knee. Rafael Marchan hasn't played in eight days with a bruised right hamate. He cannot hit right now.

Garrett Stubbs said he has a sprained right knee, according to the MRI obtained by the #Phillies. He said he would play through it during the season and expects to be ready by opening day.

Mets closer Edwin Diaz will miss the entire season.
Sucks.

Most seasons just end up being a long war of attrition and the Phillies certainly already have their share of injuries to deal with, with who-knows-what ahead.

Mets will likely have to trade a prospect they wanted to keep to bolster the back end of their pen.

Knapp should have started his coaching career three years ago.

Phillies are going to stretch Strahm to be a three-inning pitcher, which could have benefits -- and be a necessity -- if we find ourselves needing bullpen games.

So how will the bench end up?

Including whomever replaces Harper in the line-up - 5 spots with Stubbs, Harrison & Sosa as locks

So for the other 2 - will it be Cave & Hall?

If Kingery does well at AAA - he would be the first call-up with an injury

This is the attitude you want every owner to have.

John Middleton spoke on WIP today. He apparently told the Phillies early in spring training that he would be disappointed if the Phillies won only one World Series. His long-term goal is to create one of the greatest teams in baseball history.
