Valdez with the Astros threw a no-hitter against the Guardians.

Only needed 93 pitches

Stephen Strasburg is retiring. He's still owed $105M by the Nationals, and it sounds like they're going to reach an agreement to pay less than that full total.

Bottom line is that they won it all, but they must have sold their soul to the devil to do so, because it has been all downhill since

Imagine if they'd kept Harper, Turner and Soto .... and let Rendon, Strasburg, etc., walk.

Speaking of Rendon - Angels should have blown it up and traded Ohtani & Trout last offseason

They are going nowhere

I think Ohtani will now stay there. They'll accommodate whatever timetable and contract situation he wants. He probably wants 1 or 2 opt-outs.

(which isn't to say they'll be any good. The Ohtani news is bad for baseball. And bad news for the big-market teams that had been counting on him -- especially thinking of Dodgers and Yankees)

I think that the Dodgers will have their hands full dealing with Urias

Dodgers plan may have been to give Ohtani a half-billion and let Urias walk.

Urias is going to get perhaps as much as $250M and, honestly, I wouldn't want to be the team handing him that.
