Briere has lots to do.

It's a lot to put on a 1st time NHL GM.

[Defenseman Justin Braun has decided to retire at age 36 after 13 NHL seasons.

The NHL Alumni Association announced Braun's retirement Monday, a week and a half after he played in the Philadelphia Flyers' season finale.]

Braun's retirement kicks off the 1st personnel move for the Flyers. He's the 1st among several other veteran players to be leaving.

[The Flyers signed Egor Zamula to a new one-year, $775,000 contract. The 23-year-old defenseman's entry-level contract was set to expire this offseason. The undrafted product turned an amateur tryout with the Flyers into an ELC back in 2018.]

[Forwards Noah Cates and Morgan Frost and defenseman Cam York are among some of the Flyers' other RFAs in line for new deals before next season.]

Flyers have no lottery luck and will pick 7th.

I've never said this about Hart, but with the 3 other system goalies looking so good, I would consider packaging Hart and that #7 to move up as far as that allows.

Wonder if a top 6 lottery team is in the market for a franchise goalie.

Keith Jones is the new President of Hockey Ops

I like Keith Jones.

I like Keith Jones as a hockey analyst.
I like Keith Jones as a radio co-host.

Keith Jones as a President of Hockey Operations when he has zero front office experience? This organization just can't help, nor stop, it's nepotism and incestuous need to hire former Flyers in front office capacities.

I do not understand why it's so hard a concept it is to go to one of the 4-5 best organizations to raid. Go to Tampa Bay, go to Carolina, go to Detroit for an Yzerman protege.

I don't get this when you're beginning such an important phase.

Done deal.

Maybe it's so out there it will work.

The guy knows hockey. I'll give him that.

Needed to find someone who can work with Briere and Torts. There might not be too many folks who can.
