How many extra pitches does he have to throw in an inning on a pitch clock because of brick hands?

I mean the Castellanos play was an out anyway at 2nd, and the run was scoring with Castellanos arm anyway even if caught. Sure Stott gave them an extra out.

Falter’s command has been awful all year

Yes the defense sucked, but Falter has completely imploded. What a mental midget.

Heading for 0-8 in games Bailey Falter starts.

20-13 in all other games. He can’t pitch in 5 days.

Lehigh Valley starting pitcher ERAs

Plassmeyer, 6.19
Sanchez, 6.14
McArthur, 7.13

Noah Skirrow has been the best LHV starter, and he's not on the 40-man

Terrible job of adding SP depth this winter.

Actually, it'll almost certainly be Nick Nelson into the rotation. They'll have to stretch him out in the majors. He can really only go 3-4 innings at this point.

He reinjured his hamstring

I think that Joe Roa is available....

Interesting thoughts by Winkelman that actually came BEFORE today's Falter disaster:

I do not know how the league can think about expansion in any remotely near term until there are enough starting pitchers for the current 30 teams. I realize some teams have some minor league pitching depth, but I don't think most AAA teams have 5 starting pitchers on them right now, let alone 5 competent starting pitchers. You would really need an overabundance of talent to not have expansion mike a worse product, but don't worry MLB is on that by removing 20 rounds of the draft, a level of the minor leagues, and 60+ minor league jobs per team.

Very minor props to Falter for eating innings.

Oof.
Probably Sanchez at least gets a shot.

They should look into trading for Lance Lynn, who has not pitched as badly as his ERA. He's getting killed on BABIP.
