Walker alternating between OK starts and awful starts that make us think he must be hurt.

So depressing to watch other teams -- but rarely the Phillies -- have high-ranking prospects to call up to the majors, to generate excitement and boost the lineup.

So many awful awful drafts.

What do we have to show for it?

We're still finding out about Stott and Bohm, but the ceiling seems to be "cost-controlled average MLB position player"

LHV is a hole right now. Reading not much better.

Just not sustainable to have nothing in the system.

And the best guy coming up plays the same position are Marsh, who's looking better than any of our own young players.

Tommy John surgery for Jacob DeGrom.

The crazy thing is that, even without him, Rangers appear to be a Top 3 team in the AL.

Eovaldi has been real good for them

I think most of us wanted nothing to do with DeGrom - was just too risky with his injury history
Just a shame as he (when healthy) was a top 5 pitcher in our lifetime

Supposedly some hope at the lower levels, but sadly too far away

And that's the problem.
The window for this offense is 2023-2025.
How will they find the pitching to accompany that?
Will they trade their top A and AA prospects for young guys who are MLB ready or already in MLB?

Will they get creative in free agency? SP Yoshinobu Yamamoto should be a free agent this winter, and they'd certainly have a better shot at him than Ohtani or Urias. (Though we should root for Dodgers to get Ohtani, because otherwise they'll be all over Yamamoto)

I think that they are going to just hope that 2 of Abel, Painter & McGarry can contribute next year

Honestly, I think all three of them can contribute.

BUT here's the catch: I don't think you get more than a combined 200 IP from all three.

So, in essence, all 3 will give you the equivalent of 1 pitcher.

AGING WHEELER
SUAREZ
WALKER
ROOKIE DUDES
????

That's not an October staff
