It's his inconsistent mechanics. He gets loose and sloppy, his arm either drags or gets out front. He doesn't look like he's in the best physical condition he could be in. He doesn't know where the ball is coming out of his hand so he doesn't know where it's going.

Someone needs to tighten him up. Get him to stay inside his body. His arms, legs, torso.ans shoulders are going all over the place, pitch to pitch it's different.

He doesn't look like that confident kid who surprised us early. He used to look like he felt invincible, now he looks like he's just trying to get through an inning.

I think he's also among those who adapted poorly to the pitch clock. He wasn't a slow pitcher by any means, but he had a rhythm that worked for him.
Every other pitcher dealing with same thing though.
