Besides that, the #15, 16 and 19 1st rd picks will not get you a top QB, you need top 10 picks.

They properly see Hurts as a potential franchise QB. He is the youngest QB in the playoffs, he is the youngest Eagles' QB to ever make the playoffs, he did that in his 1st year.

It comes down to their evaluation before this draft. They either think he is a franchise guy or isn’t. If they don’t think so they’ll be involved, not sure they’ll get it done obviously but they will be in those discussions.

They won’t have the assets to go get a franchise QB anytime soon again if they don’t think Hurts is one.

And they’ll be in good shape with the cap going forward even with an expensive QB

While I don't see Jalen as a "franchise" QB, I think he's done enough good things this year to warrant another full season to see exactly what he is. He's shown the effort, his teammates respect him and I think he's earned that shot - especially since the QBs in the draft this year don't really have much higher of a ceiling that'd i'd be comfortable with in trading up for one.

I loved the Barnett selection when he was drafted. But as time's gone on, I'm really tired of him. Whether you think the calls against him are legit or not, it doesn't matter. He's earned not getting benefit of the doubt due to his past two year antics. I personal fouls could be added to a DE's sack total, he'd be a legend. I'm really glad he's gone.
