Dumping Schwarber and letting Nola should help a little on that front.
It doesn't help make guys magically available.
Free agency is thin.
After Ohtani, Nola & Urias (none of whom will be here), you're looking at these top two:

-- Lucas Giolito
-- Blake Snell

They're getting five-year deals. MAYBE you could lure Snell with 4/120, but I doubt it.

Offense is just mediocre and that won't be changing

Whether they make the playoffs will come down to the pitching staff.

It's time to move Nola. He's going to want money above what the Phillies should pay. Holding on to him until the end of the season is silly since there will be no return for him when he leaves as a FA. This move would probably look like the club was raising the shite flag on the season but so be it. They're not going to make the POs with the way that this club is playing short of some serious roster changes and a Dallas Green wake up call in the room.

The benefit of holding onto Nola is that you might make the playoffs and get a couple/few quality starts from him in October.

Rolling the dice on the 4-5% chance we have of winning the World Series is worth keeping him.
Trade him now and Bailey Falter is back in the rotation

Agree with Chris - can't trade Nola when you are competing for a playoff spot
