It is a battle in this city for which team has a worse draft & development system, the Flyers or the Phillies. Neither of these two teams have drafted well over the last 40 years. When they do draft well and they manage to produce a prospect, they ask too much or they feature them as important cogs too early, they sour on them before they enter their prime years, then trade them.

Other than Ed Wade's drafted and developed core, the only way the Phillies or Flyers compete is with other teams players brought in by trade, mostly with the occasional FA. Dombrowski has changed their success rate with his eye.

They failed Moniak and countless other recent hitting prospects with their fucking launch angle crap, and you can include Kingery in that.

Disgraceful.

I certainly wouldn't say he's better than 22-23 current Phillies, but look at the broader issue. It is ok to acknowledge an overall organizational weakness.
