It's hard not to like this trade for the Eagles.
They need to keep infusing good young talent over a multiple-year period, and you can't turn down an offer like this, though there's chance Saints win 10 or 11 games.

Coming this close to the draft, Eagles have a good feel about who they could have taken with those three 1st-rounders, and are probably a little underwhelmed.

It's a homerun for Roseman.

The way I see this:
- Eagles move up one spot from 19th to 18th overall
- Eagles move their 6th rounder this year for a 7th this year
- Eagles 16th overall this year becomes a 1st round pick next year which could be a top 10 pick if Saints are bad
- Eagles also pick up an extra 3rd this year and an extra 2nd in 2024

Wow.

Looks like a real good trade to me and we all knew that they were going to trade at least one of the picks. The only risk is if the Saints are a lot better than expected and make the playoffs
With a new coach and Winston, I still see a 500ish team at best which keeps that pick in the 16-20 range

The 6th for a 7th, don't care about

Extra 2nd in 2024 & 3rd this year makes any risk more than worthwhile

So, another year of draft position scoreboard watching

That game started off so enjoyable last year and then turned to manure.

Couple of thoughts on this trade:

Eagles essentially did this:

Eagles traded Pick 19 to move up to 18 for a 6th round pick this year

Eagles traded pick 16 for:
1st round pick next year
2nd round pick in 2024
pick 101 this year
pick 237 this year

Obviously this is a good trade, but it's value changes dramatically if the Saints are a bad team. They do play in a division that outside of the Bucs are mostly in rebuild mode, so they certainly could win 7-10 games. But as long as they dont make the playoffs, I think this will work out fine.

I really loved the thought of having 3 1st round picks....Eagles really could have filled some holes with that xtra pick they no longer have. I still think we can see the Eagles going DL, WR and Safety with their 2 1s and their 2nd round pick.

Setting aside that they moved up one slot from 19, Howie essentially traded the 16th pick for a late 3rd, an undetermined 1st rd pick next year and a 2nd round pick two years from now. Because a future pick is worth less than a present one, the real benefit of the trade is not realized until 2024.

Dam I wanted the DT Jordan Davis. Looks like Baltimore will beat the Eagles to the punch again. This will probably happen.
Baltimore beat the Eagles for Haloti Ngata and the Eagles settled for the average DT Broderunk Bunkley.

McShay has his new draft out with 2 rounds has us getting:

15 CB Trent McDuffy
18 LB Devon Lloyd
51 DE Ojabo

He might be great, but CB out of Washington playing in a weak ass PAC 12 has me scared as shit
I really wanted Lloyd, when they had 3 picks and did not land White in FA....so this pick makes no sense to me
2nd round pick for an Achilles tear....where have we seen this before.

IMO, the EAGLES MUST get a WR in the 1st round. plain and fucking simple.

If you dont, then the Eagles show they have no interest in giving Jalen the weapons need to improve
