I know that RBIs are not viewed as a stat, like it used to be, but I still look at it. Bohm should get 100+
I think there's a middle ground. Neither are superstars, but Stott is an All-Star at this point, and Bohm is a very nice piece.
They are exactly the less-expensive pieces you need to shine when you're throwing all the budget at a half-dozen high-price guys.

If Stott and Bohm hit & Nola and Wheeler pitch in October, we're a threat to win any series.
They could lose the wild-card series, sure.
But they could also go very deep again.

Messy inning for Bellatti. Not sure he's October-bound.

Before this homestand I was hoping for 7-2, but the Giants/Angels series worried me

So, great job winning 7 of 8

Need the Reds to beat the Giants tonight

He's about a month away from turning 26. He SHOULD be thriving, and he is. Phillies control his next 4 years, which should be his peak years. Keeping him here after 2027, however, probably won't make financial sense. Paying for the past at that point.
It almost mirrors Chase Utley, though. Utley's most productive years were 27-32. Utley was 26 when he 1st played a full season, 147 games. Stott is 25, now, as you said, won't be 26 until October, so he'll play 2024 as a 26yo. Utley had 13 HRs, batted .266 as a 25yo, Stott has 14 HRs, batting .297(more games) as a 25yo.

I don't see the Phillies letting a homegrown potential star walk. Castellanos and Schwarber should be gone, money will be there. Stott is trending toward stardom.

Great points. I'm all for it if it happens that way. Great for the team. No way to know what everything will look like in a few years.

Looking at potential WC round matchups - if they make the playoffs

Cubs - Steele, Hendricks, ?
Giants - Webb, Cobb, Harrison
Dbacks-Gallen, Kelly, ?

Giolito could be in the mix as he isn't getting past the Giants

Short series - so I am looking at the pitching matchups. I would want to play the Cubs

Of course it's bad mojo to root for or against getting an opponent. So I'm trying not to go there, but of course it's only natural.
My preference actually veers away from the Cubs, because they've been playing so well for so long.

One thing I'm REALLY curious about is who gets the #3 spot, because if that team beats the NL Central champ, they get the Braves and the other series winner gets the Dodgers.

I shouldn't say this, but I love our bats matching up against the Dodgers' pitching in a potential NLDS.

OTOH, the Dodgers might pass the Braves in the standings and flip the whole equation.

crap ton of baseball left.
