Arizona's schedule to finish:
-- Giants today
-- 3 vs. Yankees
-- 3 vs. White Sox
-- 3 vs. Astros (who will probably care about those games)
Phils have to win their games - can't depend on other teams. Dbacks winning today and the next 6, at a minimum, will most likely be 4+ wins

Wow - didn't realize that it was a foul ball. I know that it worked out, but that was dumb
I think you're right. Williams had just stolen two bases, and there's no way Castellanos could have known there would be such a fatal combination of bad jump/bad slide by Williams. He should score 19 times out of 20 there.

On the other hand, you let it drop and you're back to Kimbrel having 1 out and a 2-2 count on Arcia. Even if Kimbrel strikes him out, then he has to face Acuna. Those odds suck eggs, too.

Maybe that WAS the only narrow path of get out of the inning. Sometimes to you have think outside the box to bail out Kimbrel.

I highly doubt that Nick was factoring any of that in

If Williams scored - everyone would be ripping Nick (+ a # of others on the team)

Winning cures so many ills for the day

It would have been 99% Kimbrel's fault, not Castellanos, with the walk and then allowing two stolen bases.

Need it to stay competitive for the #2/#3 wild card. ... If Arizona gets "locked" into the #2 spot, they will be able to tweak their rotation for the wild card series. They won today and the are the top team to root against right now, not for worries over the #1 spot, but so they don't clinch #2

I get that Stubbs is popular in th4 clubhouse. However he needs to be doing more than that. Barring a trade for someone else, Marchan should be the back up next season. His defense is good and he can do more at the plate than Stubbs.
