David Wells threw a perfect game hung over. No excuse, Ranger.

Pache has really come back down to earth at the plate

I really don't see what he brings to the playoff roster, besides baserunning (if he gets on) or having a good glove in the outfielder if someone gets hurt.

If they pinch hit for Marsh against a LH (whether with Pache or someone else) or Rojas against a RH- it is better for the OF defense to put him out there than Cave

Therein lies the question. If they face a tough LH reliever, who would you rather see bat Marsh, Sosa or Pache? I really don't have a strong preference.

Though Amaro makes a good point. Pache could be used as a pinch runner

Good speed from 1st to 3rd, or 2nd to home ... BUT he is a terrible base-stealer:

-- 72 for 119 in the minors (60%)
-- 4 for 8 in the majors (50%)

9th inning tie game; Schwarber or Castallanos, lead off BB - pinch run him, for the 1st to 3rd; 2nd to home you referenced

One concern going into the post season is Stott's struggles this month. Sub 540 OPS
