In a surprise, Blazers trade Lillard to Bucks.

Big mistake. Holiday is a better fit, a better overall player and Lillard is a no defense playing, non playmaking gunner.

76ers are interested in Holiday now he's a Blazer.

He would be a spectacular partner for Maxey.

The Celtics made one of the great trades of the last 10 years. They actually improved on Marcus Smart with a smarter, taller, better version of Smart. Porzingis is better than Williams.

The Celtics made a better move than the Bucks did getting Lillard. Getting Holiday to guard Lillard is a master stroke.

I don't see how the Sixers get by either one.

By the way, Portland made a spectacular series of moves trading Lillard and then Holiday. They really have themselves a strong starting lineup, bench pieces and a bevy of picks.

Ayton
Williams
Grant
Simons
Brogdon

Thybulle
Camara
Sharpe

We're hesitant to say it out loud, but it does seem the quiet ticking of the clock toward trading Embiid began this summer. It's still possible to defuse that ticking, but it's going to take an incredible bomb expert.

if theyre gonna do it, i say do it now before it becomes an untenable situation and you lose leverage in negotiations.

[The Philadelphia 76ers are converting guard Javonte Smart to a two-way contract, Dan Frank of @LiftSportsMngmt tells ESPN. Smart had stops with Milwaukee and Miami since leaving LSU in 2021.]

Morey has found some interesting UDFA types who look like they can play but there might be a numbers crunch to keep them on the roster. I veteran might have to go to fit them. 2-way deals help.

This team needs kids in the system who can develop the way Miami and Toronto build with those 2rd picks and UDFAs. Smart and Smith have potential, so does Council IV, but he was waived last night and should wind up in Delaware.

[Harrell (knee) was waived by the 76ers on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.]

According to Keith Pompey, The Knicks are "Willing" to offer Randle, , RJ Barrett, Evan Fournier, Mitchell Robinson, and up to three first round picks for Embiid.

I like Randle, but I just think the Sixers need to be paitent this year. Let some of these kids develop, and let Harris play out his contract.

They gave away Barkley for less though.
