Expecting exact same lineup tonight.
Lefty Braxton Garrett, statistically, is almost an exact clone of Luzardo, down the splits. Issues fewer walks, but strikes out fewer. Phillies scored six runs off him this year in two starts.

Regarding a potential Game 3, the Marlins only have one other SP on their roster: RH Edward Cabrera.
Most likely they'd deploy all their lefties in a bullpen game.

Goes without saying that a win today would slightly boost their odds against the Braves. Could use a Suarez/Sanchez piggyback in Game 1 and then reset with Wheeler/Nola. I missed that Morton is out for the division series, so Braves are probably Strider, Fried (1st game back), Elder....

yeah i expect the same lineup. i feel like they left runs on the table.
obviously the game comes down to which Nola we get. He went 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA in three starts against the Marlins this season.

Hopefully we don't find out who the emergency long man is today. Would depend a lot on the context. What's the score. What's the inning. By about the 4th, they could theoretically bullpen out the rest of the game.
Probably the first choice would be Strahm, but Sanchez could also be in play.
I'll be positive and look for 5+ strong from Nola and a bunch of Phillies homers.

Worst case scenario tonight is for the Phillies to lose a close game, especially in extra innings. Using Alvarado, Hoffman, Kimbrel tonight means that they would need to pitch for a 3rd straight day in an elimination game
Obviously if the opportunity is there to win, Thomson has to go for it, but how many runs down mean Soto/Dominguez instead in the late innings?
Plus, he'll be walking the tightrope with when to pull Nola as he can implode so quickly (as we all know)
Phils will need to score 6+ tonight to win which means they need some HRs and can't go 3-14 again with RISP

I mean, the bullpen is deep: Strahm, Sanchez, Kerkering in addition to the ones you mentioned -- Alvarado, Hoffman, Kimbrel, Soto, Dominguez.
Pitch counts were low last night: 17 Alvarado, 4 Hoffman, 15 Kimbrel
At this point, you do what's necessary to win either today or tomorrow, and worry about the rest later, if there's a later.

All are available tonight obviously
Issue would be if they need someone to go 3 days in a row. Not about doing what is necessary - worry is effectiveness
Score 10 runs in the first - coast to victory and it won't matter

Exact same lineup. No surprise.
