Not for nothing, but Harper's AB in the 8th made it look like he had a plane to catch. Three wild swings.

Harper's not himself this year, but having him at DH is better than any other scenario for this lineup. Who else would get those at-bats? Also, just the idea of Harper being in there influences how other teams/pitchers approaching the lineup and surrounding hitters.

Usually, after TJ surgery, even for position players, they are not 100% until the second year .See Didi Gregororius ,most recentlyChristopher wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 5:46 pm Harper's not himself this year, but having him at DH is better than any other scenario for this lineup. It is on Schwarber,,Castellanos,Turner,Realmuto and Bohm to carry the bulk of the offense in the second half
Harper is pressing and when he does make contact,he seems incapable of driving the the ball out of the park
3 home runs for him is ridiculous

Even if he's just a singles hitter and draws walks, that .390 OBP is impactful in our lineup. He seems to have adjusted to just staying within himself and hitting 'em where they ain't.

After what Harper did last year in the post season, it will be a long time before I criticize him
As Chris said, .393 OBP, 800+ OPS - not MVP Bryce, but solid
He will get his HRs in bunches before the summer is over.
