Phillies said to be interested in Pham.
He's seeking to return to lineup early this week after groin discomfort.
Putting a 35-year-old with groin trouble in LF wouldn't seem to be a massive upgrade over Schwarber defensively. But if Pham can hit like he's been hitting (.889 OPS vs. lefties this year), that's probably the Phillies' best possible lineup vs. lefties without selling the farm.
I can see Mets sending him elsewhere just to spite Phillies.

Do you have a preferred outfielder acquisition?

Or a preference to stand pat, given the futility of it all?

I'd love to get Acuna ;)

I know that he is LH, but if they are going to make a move, I would try to get Bellenger. Can also play 1B. He actually has a 1,050 OPS against LH

Offense needs a big jolt

I'd love to see the Phillies get Bellinger, but think his play lately is upping the price tag to where it's not going to happen. I see him ending up on the Yankees. I would say none of the options that are actually possibly really excite me that much, but Hunter Renfroe might be the best. He has power, is a decent fielder with a good arm. Teoscar Hernandez has power, but he's not a great fielder and he strikes out a lot. I'll be disappointment if the best they can do is Tommy Pham. I would like Lane Thomas, but since he's under control through the 2025 season and currently playing for a division rival, the cost for him will probably be too high.

I'm down with Bellinger, pending where things end up in the bidding war.
He's obviously not going to accept his end of the mutual option for 2024, so it's a rental

Atlanta, as always, making its little moves a full week before the deadline.

I just saw two stories about how the Phillies are pursuing Mets slugger ----- Tommy Pham. Pham has had a long career. He's 35 years old. He had two good seasons with the Cards six or seven years ago, but this is the first time I've ever heard him described as a slugger.

It will be their "Turk Wendell" quality deadline move

Starting to look like Padres, Cubs, Mets, Angels, Red Sox will not be looking to trade away any big names. Which is going to make for a very dull deadline and hike up the prices on the trash that remains.

Someone noted that Cubs currently have better postseason odds than the Marlins.
