Sounds like the Mets are going to sell.

I think it's important to note that one reason -- besides Cohen -- that they paid so much for Scherzer, Verlander, Quintana, Carrasco, Senga is because they have not developed any young major league pitching.

Cohen's money can't change the fact that they may be headed for a rebuild.

A lot of this might ultimately be a function of who's on the Phillies' off-limits list. The farm is just not good.

Is there anyone on this list you'd want to trade, for ANY player not named Juan Soto?

Mick Abel
Griff McGarry
Hao-Yu Lee
Johan Rojas
Justin Crawford

If you agree those guys should be off-limits, there's only so much you can get with what's left, which consists of Rafael Marchan, whose been hurt most of the year and has unknown value; fireball reliever Orion Kerkering; middling slugger Carlos De La Cruz; and Símon Muzziotti, who's nearly 25 already

Cubs keep winning so doesn't look like they will be sellers

Chris unless they are going to trade for a real good bat, I don't want them trading any of their top prospects

Which leaves:

1. Stand pat, or
2. Try to make some smaller moves to bolster the (awful) bench and/or improve team vs. lefties.

Probably wouldn't move Abel or Crawford unless it was for Soto, but I might consider the others for Lane Thomas.
