Yeah.
I'd be cool if they got another starter, but Phils need bench help big time.

Imagine a year at the trade deadline where the Phillies bullpen is not the top of their worries.

Actually, maybe the bullpen should be. They've been great, but also starting to show overuse. Alvarado is still not ready. Dominguez doesn't appear healthy. A solid reliever is always welcome.

Padres getting Rich Hill.
I didn't want to say it for fear of being mocked. But I wouldn't have minded him as an innings-eating safety net.

Pads not selling, cubs going for it, angels going for it. market has to be garbage. you almost couldnt blame Dombrowski if he stood pat.
Re: 2023 MLB Trade Deadline rumors & discussion (Deadline: Aug. 1)
Given the state of the market, he really should, especially given the underachieving this roster has done. Unless the big 5 play to the level expected of them, this team almost certainly goes nowhere no matter how good the pitching is.

Verlander back to the Astros, for the next 2.5 seasons
Mets get Astros' #1 and #4 prospects -- 2 outfielders who are better than any hitter in the Phillies' system.
