Moore as a prize pick-up just grates at me
So many pitchers that have found success after leaving here
Giants will definitely claim Giolito and maybe 1 of the relievers if they get that far

Phils could claim Grichuk for a RH OF bat
947 OPS vs LH
Doubt he makes it that far

Angels gave up a top 100 prospect for a month of Lopez/Giolito

At the very least, the Phillies should pound the crap out of a fully demoralized Angels team tonight and tomorrow. They might not even use the waived relievers.

Non-zero chance that Manfred quashes this.

What is a stronger force - ex Phils crushing us or the demoralized team....Christopher wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 9:52 pm At the very least, the Phillies should pound the crap out of a fully demoralized Angels team tonight and tomorrow. They might not even use the waived relievers.

They way I can see, Manfred can piss off one owner -- an owner who recently tried to sell his team.
Or he can piss off multiple owners who are upset about shenanigans that could affect the postseason.

I don't know what he is allowed to do by rule (and I am skeptical that he would even if he could), but it does seem like an integrity issue
What if they had released Ohtani - that would really have been extremely unfair to the higher seeded WC teams

Oakland or KC or some godforsaken team would claim Ohtani just for the small boost in September ticket salesFolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 9:57 pmI don't know what he is allowed to do by rule (and I am skeptical that he would even if he could), but it does seem like an integrity issue

In terms of teams in the playoff hunt
1) Marlins
2) Reds
3) Giants
is the priority order
Though I guess the Padres (who just lost Darvish) or the Guardians could claim a few for their longshot playoff hopes
