I guess Thompson figured this was a give-up game pitching this stiff

For Christ's sake, Bigs, he's not a stiff. He pitched 2-hit ball his last outing. It's his 2nd ever start. It just didn't go well in the heat and humidity vs a very good Braves' team that feasts off pitchers who are struggling with their control.

Not fair calling him a stiff.

No you didn’t. II am convinced they threw this kid out as fodder. Saving the staff for the Dodgers
PS the Braves bats are waking up

Does it get any better than striking out the Braves' side in your major league debut with your family their to see it?

No. It does not.

Bigs, you gotta stop. They have two starters hurt and Mercado is stretched out as a starter from AAA. It is his turn in the rotation. He pitched 2-hit ball his last start. Not sure how that qualifies as "fodder". Stop taking the most negative extreme viewpoint on every circumstance. The kid just didn't have it today but another AAA prospect strikes out the side in his debut. That's baseball.

Not even remotely concerned about the series loss or how they looked the last 2 games.

Get the day off.

Get ready for the Dodgers and get guys back.
