I agree. They honestly need to move on from Marsh in my opinion. He's nothing but a platoon player who offers above average defense. Can't go into next season with the starting outfielders being him, Castellanos, and Rojas again.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 1:36 amThe daycare thing doesn't bother anyone. Too many undisciplined hitters on big contracts that are not going to change their way of playing. Dombrowski is going to have his hands full trying to remake this lineup.
One thing for sure is that the attitude of some of these players has to change. Need to be more team oriented. Less swinging for the fences and more contact hitting. Also be more professional-knock off the day care crap and bear down on playing for each other to make the individual sacrifices that create wins.

Regarding the game tomorrow, I have little faith that the Phillies will somehow right the ship. The worst part is that the organization is very much aware of the fatal flaw of this group of players, they chase way too many pitches out of the zone. It was discussed ad nauseum during the winter as a point of emphasis. During the various slumps during the second half of the season, it was brought up. And again tonight, Harper and other brought it up. Does anyone really think many of this hitters (like Turner and Castellanos) will suddenly not go up and hack away in their at bats? If the Phillies had been patient today, they likely would have gotten 10 walks. The Mets made a conscious effort to continue to throw off speed pitches out of the zone regardless of the count or situation because they knew the Phillies are too stupid to take a walk or have a more balanced approach with two strikes. The Mets will do the same thing tomorrow. Will the Phillies players adjust? History says they will not.
If Sanchez gives up an early run or two, I have little doubt this team will fold like a cheap suit (just like they did against the Diamondbacks last year). Better hope the offense breaks out and does it early in the game. If not, down 2-0 could be on the horizon.
